Lovely secluded garden, luxurious rooms, and quaint traditional touches. , Templeton's restaurant is a gem.
Oh, what a shame that the pool wasn't filled with fruit juice!

Stunning views of the surrounding landscape greeted us every morning, making us feel like we were waking up in a postcard-worthy painting. The sunset in the private secluded garden was truly a masterpiece.
Tiny bedroom.

our recent romantic trip to Montagu exceeded our expectations. Four Oaks Guest House was even better than our previous stay. The excellent food, helpful hosts, and newly renovated MonTQ restaurant made our trip unforgettable. Thank you Four Oaks!
no desk in the room

If you seek good value, tasty food and friendly service, this guesthouse may fit the bill. You can enjoy meals in different settings, from a fine dining restaurant to a vintage style one or the courtyard in the center. Despite some traffic noise, the rooms are generally clean, comfortable and cozy. Breakfast includes a good variety of options. Staff and management are polite and accommodating. A downside is that noise from other guests may be heard at times.

Very welcoming and hospitable. Quiet relaxing place to wind down. Good selection of wines in their wine shop.
Dinner was well below expectations and expensive for the quality presented. Burnt pastry on 3 starters. Sirloin overcooked, dry and lacked taste. Mark up on Wine List prices considerable over their wine shop.

This holiday season, I had a lovely stay somewhere charming and full of history. The room was equipped with almost everything I needed, including tea/coffeemakers and comfy beds. I also enjoyed the ideal location and exploring the town. The restaurant was exceptional, and the food was cooked with love, fresh ingredients and plenty of flavour.
The downside of my stay was the mosquitoes during summer that had to be prevented with citronella. the limited parking was inconvenient.

Great atmosphere and super friendly service! Really had a good time and would go there anytime again. Special mention needs to be made about the breakfast! It was great! I had a no problem late arrival as well with pre-heated room on an extremely cold SA winter night.

I had a fabulous stay over Easter! The room was very comfortable and the breakfasts on the deck were a great start to the day. The friendly and helpful owners made my stay even more enjoyable. They even allowed me to park my bike at their private residence during the Harley Davidson rally. Plus, the fact that Lana didn’t mind opening the gate for me late at night when I returned was a huge relief.
I only had the choice of eggs, toast, jam, and coffee or tea. It would have been nice to have some cereals, fruit juice, fresh fruit, or yogurt available as well.

Accommodation and service was excellent. Breakfast was very good
The evening meal although good was not up to the high standard set by the previous owner/chef. I would suggest that a simpler menu be used rather than a formal set couse dinner.

Linda the owner gave us a very warm welcome. The food was exceptional, my sister and I still remember the fillet steak with peppercorn sauce. The sideboard that was set up with an array of food for breakfast was so inviting and the cooked breakfast was perfect. The outside courtyard was a nice space to sit. I would highly recommend the Four Oaks.

The meals were very good The staff very friendly
The room was very small, no shower, bed smaller than standard double, curtains had to be closed as people could see in room when passing - making it dark even with lights on, bathroom had big clear glass window and no privacy from outside, no hand towels or drinking glass in bathroom, no plug near mirror for drying hair - in room or bathroom, Certainly not a superior double room, Owner said too busy to come and chat as wanted to tell her my comments personally

We received a warm welcome from the new owners of this place, who have stylishly refurbished this lovely old property. The location is right in the center of town, making it convenient for exploring. The room had all the amenities we needed including air conditioning, tea and coffee facilities, and a flat-screen TV. The service provided by the staff was excellent, catering to our needs and offering helpful suggestions. We also enjoyed the delicious meals at the onsite restaurant, which offered a variety of options for breakfast and dinner.
We would highly recommend this place to our friends.
